Operational worksheet — four tabs

Looks at the organisation itself: how it is set up, which skills it has and which culture surrounds it.

What it contains

The Inventory tab has four parts: Leadership, Skills, Knowledge and Culture.

  • A leadership matrix: per layer and dimension the latest measurement with the goal and the trend, and per cell the series of measurements with explanation. A spider chart does not draw a score that has not been measured yet as 0. Administrators set the layers per organisation under Administration, Lists of choices. The organisation chart is no longer here but at Processes, Line organisation; below the matrix there is a pointer to it.
  • Aspects around skills, knowledge and culture. A few fixed aspects are ready to be assessed, next to your own aspects; for each aspect you choose the maturity and the importance for the transformation (high, medium or low), with an explanation.
  • The Issues, Analysis and Improvement actions tabs. You link an issue to a leadership layer.

What you do yourself

You record measurements per layer and dimension and correct them where needed (on score and number of respondents; the measurement then shows "corrected on" with the date), assess the fixed and your own aspects and review the issues.

What the AI does

  • Add measurement: with Extract, the AI proposes a whole measurement from the dossier (source, moment of measurement, respondents and scores). The form fills only empty fields; Save records it.
  • Skills, knowledge and culture: extract aspects from the dossier and generate them; the AI does not propose an aspect that is already there.
  • Issues: extract from the dossier and generate, and link to a leadership layer. The AI keeps proposals that say the same as an existing issue out of the list as far as possible.
  • Analysis: cluster issues into themes, link themes automatically, and place the remaining issues after all. On Analysis you attach an issue to a cluster yourself or detach it.
  • Improvement actions: proposals per theme, with source accountability, generate an extra action, and have the title and explanation rewritten to a set instruction.

Every proposal stays a proposal, with its origin, until you accept it.

The strategic framework

The Strategic framework button opens a side panel next to the worksheet with the strategic themes and the principles that apply to this worksheet, each theme with its goal. This keeps the framework in view while you take inventory and formulate improvement actions. Which themes belong to a worksheet, you set at the theme on Strategy; the panel shows what was chosen there.

What it delivers

A picture of the organisation that shows where leadership and culture stand relative to the goal, plus improvement actions towards the Change portfolio.

The worksheet report shows everything on this worksheet, empty fields included, without judgement, in these chapters: what this report is for · people and organisation aspects · leadership and organisation chart · issues, clusters and improvement actions · documents consulted. The leadership matrix is in the report (with knock-on effect and gap tint), the prepared aspects appear in it as "not yet scored", and the organisation chart comes from Processes. The management summary and the findings and advice are the two other documents of this worksheet.

There is also a One-pager: one A4 page that reads like a business text (where we stand on people and culture, where it chafes and what we do about it and why), without counts, with a coverage advice. See Reporting.
