The dossier

Evidence layer — beneath all AI generation

Not a worksheet in the usual sense, but the layer beneath: the customer's source documents, and the reports you made from them.

The dossier has two tabs: Incoming and Outgoing.

Incoming

The documents the customer supplies — annual reports, process descriptions, architecture diagrams, research reports, presentations. Supported formats include PDF, PowerPoint, text files and CSV. If you upload a document that is already in the dossier, the platform notices and you choose: skip it or add it anyway.

What happens on upload

Every document is automatically cut into coherent blocks of text and made searchable by meaning instead of by keyword. This lets the system find the right passage even if the question uses different words than the document. With a large dossier, an extraction looks at more pieces, and a large document does not push out a small, fitting one.

New versions of a document

At a document there is Upload new version. The AI then uses only the newest version; the older ones stay stored, collapsed under the document. A new document that resembles an existing one asks whether it is a new version, and you can mark yourself that a document is the new version of another. For a document with more than one version, What has changed? describes in plain language what shifted between the newest and the previous version, biggest changes first. Parts that still rest on an older version appear in the list to check: you tick them off with "still correct" or "adjusted", or have the AI check them and propose a new text with sources from the new version.

Outgoing

Every version of a report that you download is stored here with version number, date and author. You can open a version and download it again; changing it is not possible. You can delete an outgoing version, after a confirmation in the row itself. A download always has the layout of the screen; if that fails, you see a notice and nothing is stored.

Why it matters

The dossier is the evidence base beneath all AI generation in the platform. Every substantiated AI claim refers back to a passage from it. Without a dossier the platform simply works — the AI then falls back on general knowledge and professional expertise, recognisably labelled — but the strength of traceability comes from here. If the dossier is empty, a button to the dossier appears next to the notice "Upload documents first". The AI works in the language of the canvas, even if the documents are in another language.

Separation

A dossier belongs to one canvas and is not shared between assignments. When searching for evidence the system looks exclusively within its own canvas; material from another customer cannot leak in. See Multi-tenant and security.

Only source material counts as evidence

What the AI generated earlier can never come back as a source for a next generation. Only supplied source material counts — otherwise an assumption could gradually promote itself to fact.
